Recycling Your Electronics

DONATE OR RECYCLE YOUR ELECTRONICS

 

 

If you are storing old electronics in your basement or garage,  you’re not alone.  

 

Experts estimate that the average US household is storing two or three old televisions and computers. Source: EPA

 

 

The following items are collected free of charge for RESIDENTS at the Environmental Center.

  • Computers
  • Computer monitors
  • Printers Peripherals (keyboards, mice, speakers, etc.)
  • TVs
  • DVD & VCR Players
  • Fax machines
  • Cell phones

 

Do not throw them away. It's the law.

 

Most TVs and computers contain a cathode ray tube (CRT), which contains 2 to 8 pounds of lead.Electronic products containing a CRT may not be placed in the garbage (Minnesota Statutes §115A.9565).
